POLIO in Haiti? Four Paralysis Cases Spotted In Port-De-Paix

Is Polio the NEXT CURSE that Haiti will have to indure? Four cases, potentially polio, are currently under investigation in Port-De-paix Haiti.

Haiti Medical Alert

Apparently, FOUR recovering cholera patients have been paralysed in the Port-De-Paix region, THREE of the patients died, one is hospitalized in Port-au-Prince.

Mezanmi...

Ou kwe nou ta sot nan CHOLERA epi pou nou ta tonbe nan POLIO?

So far, officials from the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), Haiti's Ministry of Health, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), are looking into these four cases of paralysis in Nothern Haiti.

They are likely to rule out polio as a cause, they are waiting the pending laboratory results.

I don't know if it's good news or bad news but...

All of the cases so far came from the same cholera treatment center in the La Pointe area of Port-de-Paix.

Se konsa wi Cholera te komanse.

NOTE: There has NOT been any cased of polio anywhere in the Americas since 1994 and presently, polio is endemic to four countries: Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, and Pakistan.

Let us hope that it is NOT polio but...

What else can cause paralysis and death of a recovering cholera patient?

Hmmm. Tout Haitien ak medical degrees yo... Nou bezwen tande-w wi nan moman-an

• the Cholera treatment involves a complicated mixture of rehydration and salts;
• the authorities have been using el cheapo translations of the correct mixture of salts in the water for Cholera treatment, distributing instructions nationwide, which are
