Farewell to a Journalism Icon: Remembering Liliane Pierre-Paul of Radio Kiskeya

On Monday 31 July, 2023, Radio Kiskeya announced the death of their famous journalist Liliane Pierre-Paul over the air. The Haitian media was mourning the death of one their best.

At the age of 70, Liliane Pierre-Paul suffered a heart attack at her home in the hills above Port-au-Prince. She was preparing to head to her beloved Radio Kiskeya to host her popular 4pm news program "Journal 4h".

Liliane's son, Harold Isaac, confirmed the tragic news. Later, Radio Kiskeya announced her passing on air, marking the end of an era in Haitian journalism and leaving behind a legacy that will forever be remembered.

Bennedict Mathurin was drafted in the NBA in 2022 (Round: 1 / Pick: 6). he played college basketball for the Arizona Wildcats.

Bill Gates, his wife, now ex wife Melinda and their children visited hospitals in Plateau Central Haiti with his family to pay a visit to Dr. Paul Farmer, one of the heroes of global health, Gates said.

Haitian rapper IZOLAN arrested by police

Haitian artist Izolan, member of member of the Barikad Crew rap group, was arrested by police Wednesday March 24th 2021 as he was about to board a plane heading to the Dominican Republic.

According to news reports the rapper was arrested by BLTS, the Drug Enforcement brigade of the Haitian national police force.

Hey was questioned then released later that day.

So far there are no specific details as to why he was detained. however, he is known as a close friend of Youri Chevry, the former mayor of port au Prince who recently seek asylum in the Dominican Republic because of his affiliation with Phantom 509, a group of rogue police officers well known for holding violent street protests in Haiti.
