ESSENCE caught a rare reunion moment between Haitian rap superstar Wyclef Jean and LeToya Luckett, one of the founding members of Destiny's Child, 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.

"I even got married and everything, I am all grown now," LeToya Luckett said to Wyclef having now seen him for so long.

Roody Roodboy announced the death of his mother Marie Sanette Voltaire Dauphin

On Monday, 22 October 2018, Haitian singer Roody Petuel Dauphin, better known as Roody Roodboy, announced the passing of his mother Marie Sanette Voltaire Dauphin

The singer's mother who celebrated her 52nd birthday just six days before passed away after being rushed to the hospital because she was not feeling well.

Marie Sanette Voltaire died following a cardiac episode. Roody Roodboy suggest that the condition of Haiti's healthcare system, coupled with her illness, contributed to his mother's death.

Not feeling wel, Roody Roodboy swiftly took his mother to the Bernard Mevs Hospital for initial diagnoses. Following necessary preliminary tests, an attending nurse instructed them to return the next day to consult a general practitioner.

Shoubou, the singer of Tabou Combo, is hospitalized

Haitian singer Robert M. Eugène, aka Shoubou, vocal lead Tabou Combo has been hospitalized since Thursday, September 27th.

The singer who is in a hospital in New York currently must undergo thoracentesis, a procedure to release of excess fluid in his lungs.

This news was fist reported on Loop Haiti.

Last week we told you Haitian singer Roger M. Eugene, aka Shoubou, leader singer of Tabou Combo was hospitalized. Well, there's good news, Shoubou is out of the hospital and is ready to hop on the stage this coming weekend in Boston.

While all his music cans were worried when they heard the news Shoubou was in the hospital, "it wasn't as serious as everyone thought," he told Journlalist Guy Wewe during a phone interview while he was still in the hospital.

When French singer Charles Aznavour came to Haiti to perform in December 2017, no one expected it would be his last performance in Haiti. Charles Aznavour has just died. He was 94.

Two hours after news reports that the Charles Aznavour died, he is trending on twitter.

Nemours Jn Baptiste would've been 100 years old if he was alive today in 2018. To commemorate the 100 year aniversary of the maestro and founder of Konpa Direk, a new bust of Nemours Jn Baptiste was erected at Place Saint-Anne in Port-au-Prince.

This event took place on July 26 2018 which marks 63 years since Maestro Nemours Jn Baptiste formed the first ever Compas Direct music group "l'Ensemble Aux Calebasses," which marked the birth of Compas Direct.
